I'm sure that followed this
link by the intention to get knowing of who the hell are these guys that
call themselves SLUGS.
To serve your demand we personally sit down and wrote down something
about ourselves. ( truly objective, of course)
The photographs on this site were taken at a concert at Jazz Cellar Hanau
(Germany) in February 99. |

Nick Thart
(Lead Vocals, Guitar)
Founding Member of the
SLUGS, since 1991
Nick is one of the most creative
Heads of the SLUGS. He's writing almost all Songs of the SLUGS. But during
countless JAMs all members of the SLUGS extremely exhausts themselves
by producing unbelievable mad ideas together in a kind of a creative process.
This leads often to a birth of a new song. One importand fact about Nick
is that he always tries to reclaim this musically chaos. There is no doubt
about it, this is real hard work to steer this into the one or the other
but always the right direction. |

Andreas Langer
(Vocals, Guitar)
since 1997 at SLUGS
Andreas replaces with his undeviating
groove and super rocking' guitar solos a whole herd of guitar players
inclusive their belonging marshall towers.
Lots of songs by the SLUGS get really lit up by a initial guitar riff
which is often followed by a complete burn down to the ground walls.
It's not hard to recognize his idols by listening to his play. You
can easily hear influences of Stieve Salas, Eddi van Halen, Jimmy
Hendrix or who and what the hell else. |

Rudi Gesell
(Bass)
since 1997 at SLUGS
At least by the musically
point of view Rudi is one of the most experienced members of our band.
He started his career as an amateur musician in the late 70's with "Neue
Deutsche Welle" ( german new wave) in the formation "Genau Geanu". At
1982 he did radical change of style by playing fusion jazz with "Aquire".
Other milestones in his musically development was Funk Pop playing with
the group "Postcard To Mary", followed by mainstream rock at "Sell the
Floor". Nevertheless all this stations got unimportant as he finally found
in SLUGS the kind of music that he was searching for so long

Peter Urban
(Drums)
Since 1991 at SLUGS
Part of the groove machine of
the SLUGS. Almost always the cause for countless, extreme, excessive JAM
sessions that ends up for all participants in lying breathless inside
a lake of cold sweat on the ground.
He really don't like the story that you can detect drummers always in
the fact that they like to be in presence of musicians. Because
he was educated at an Instrument and wasted some years as a trumpet player
in the horn section of a Frankfurt rock band named "Cora Cox". He was
doing this until Nick releases him and put him to his real destination
as a drummer at SLUGS. |
